Building Reusable Email Components in Marketing Cloud Next
Reusable components eliminate the re-build problem: write once, use across every campaign. Here is how to build a component library that keeps your emails on-brand and your team efficient.
Every B2B marketing team has email elements they rebuild from scratch for every campaign: the header with the logo, the footer with the legal disclaimer, the CTA button in brand colours, the case study card layout, the feature highlight grid. Each rebuild is identical to the last — except for the human error that introduces a slightly wrong shade of green or a slightly different font size.
Reusable email components solve this. Build it once, save it, use it everywhere. When the brand updates, update one component — all emails using it update too.
What Qualifies as a Reusable Component
A reusable email component is any email content block that:
- Appears in multiple campaigns unchanged or with minor variation
- Contains design or brand elements that should be consistent across all emails
- Would be re-built manually each time without a reuse mechanism
